Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson has a bone to pick with the organization.

Despite him recording his most productive career years with the franchise, and even though he led the team to its lone NBA Finals appearance since 1983, for whatever reason the Sixers haven’t seen fit to recognize Iverson’s contributions.

Sure, they retired his No. 3, but that’s where it starts and ends.

Iverson has remained fairly level-headed about the entire thing up to this point, but during a recent interview, he couldn’t help but acknowledge his frustrations.

“I’m a Sixer for life,” Iverson told Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report. “I got Sixer blood pumping through me. Everybody knows that I want to help that organization. I been retired, what, 11 years? I don’t know how I’m not a part of that staff in some kind of way."

Allen Iverson was a bit hesitant to talk about it, but here he discusses his desire to be a part of the Sixers organization.

“Even if it’s [as a consultant],” Iverson continued. “I will be the happiest in the world and the money thing ain’t got nothing to do with it. It’s just me being me and me being a Sixer and wanting to help. I don’t know why nothing has been put in place for me. I still love y’all. Don’t get it twisted. It’s all love and it ain’t never going nowhere. But it’s just something I don’t understand.”

Iverson has never been one to bite his tongue. Whether he is opening up about the flaws in Trae Young’s game or putting LeBron James in his place, he always keeps it real. If he was truly angry about this Sixers situation, he’d admit. He’s clearly disappointed but has love for the organization most synonymous with his name.

Will the franchise ultimately try to make things right? Time will tell.
